Schultz Stone Hill Caves

Wrattonbully is a large wine region on South Australia’s Limestone Coast. An extensive cave, sealed in 1917 was rediscovered in the early 90’s on the property of Schultz Vineyard. Spanning 270 metres under the vineyard, it includes a touching memorial of the past – a beautiful hand-carving in limestone, ‘F. J. Charter 1911’ – a local who died on the battlefields of France in 1917. New paving, lighting and preparation of a large chamber for the occasional dinner or lunch under the vines has made this a unique destination for wine aficionados from around the world. ID created interpretative signage for the site.
